Sorry guys, I’m going live from my car today because I’m out busy hitting the road, getting some things done outside of the office for once. I’m trying to be more proactive as far as getting out of the office. I’m actually going to turn this off because it’s Kinda loud. I’m getting out of the office, making sure that, you know, I’m, I’m out getting leads in a way that isn’t just so standard. So one of the things I did early this morning, so I’ve watched a training on how to get leads for real estate investment. I think this is kind of see if that works okay. For real estate investment. And it was, it was pretty enlightening because the guy that was talking about it was talking about actually going and hitting the road outside of just networking events and actually going to places like bail bondsmen intend, uh, you know, just striking up a conversation with them going and walking into a real estate office.
And of course this was about, um, kind of like real estate investment style stuff. But it was enlightening because it’s wasn’t so much of just the getting on facebook live to network, you know, different methods of online networking and just going to regular networking events. It was actually focused on in person relationship building tactics and how to make sure that you’re not just sitting around in your office all the time doing just the standard stuff that everybody’s doing. If you’re doing the same stuff that everybody else is doing, sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn’t. And a lot of times people are doing that because it works. But at the same time it can become extremely saturated when you’re doing that. So it’s important to kind of try to think outside of the box. And I was really inspired by what I saw in that training.
Sorry, I’m in the parking lot of my office. I saw. So I look like somebody was walking up to my car. Um, I was really inspired by what I saw in that training because it was so outside of what most people do in the online realm. Most of the, most of the stuff, trainings for online networking or are either pushing that you just go to regular networking events, which a lot of times I feel like it’s a lot of people pushing the same products and the same services. And it’s kind of counterproductive to do that. You could go to a thousand networking events and not meet one serious businessperson at them. I mean that not every networking events like that, but a lot of times that’s what it’s like. And that could be a real bummer for me and it makes me just not even want to invest my time it because my time is very important to me.
And I don’t want to spend my time at, uh, doing things with people that I don’t feel like are actually going to take action. And a lot of local networking events for entrepreneurs. It’s a lot of people that either they don’t want to take action, they’re scared to take action or they just don’t know how to take action and they feel like just going to the networking event itself is a form of taking action. And that I don’t like to spend my time doing that. I don’t feel like there’s a good return on investment for that. And you can meet people that way. It’s a good, it’s a good way to meet people. But are you meeting the right people? Is it niched down enough to where you’re meeting the people that actually need your services and your help? And I struggle with that. But if you actually go out to just randomly dropping into bail bondsmen or this guy.
I mean, attorneys was one of, one of the things that I suggested for real estate investment. Like for example, going out to probate attorneys offices and just giving them your card and telling them, you know, I may have some people that could use your services. It just an exchange of service, just networking. It’s just generally networking, but it’s actually doing it in person with someone that’s targeted instead of just a hope and a prayer hoping that somebody at the local networking event, um, is the type of person that you want to do business with. So rather than sitting around for two hours or even three hours in some networking events that I’ve been been to that were the, the range of people is so broad and eclectic and that’s good if you’re just trying to make a good group of friends. But if you’re trying to beep in his car a million times, if you’re trying to actually do some targeted networking, it’s not a good idea.
And I think I hadn’t actually been able to kind of put together while I wasn’t liking those networking events until I heard this guy talk today and realized this is why. Because it’s not targeted enough. I’d much rather just reach out directly to the people that I want to network with and um, you know, have a discussion directly with them about how I can help them or how they can help me or how we can have a mutually beneficial relationship so that, that was something that was really inspiring to me. So I’m hitting the road today despite the fact that it’s starting to rain right now. But anyway, I just wanted to pop on here just real quick and just have a little bit of have alive today even though it’s not like an in depth training or anything like that. That’s just kind of, and not necessarily an epiphany, the epiphany that I had today, but just something that if you’re in sales and the network of people that you want to build, the relationships that you want to build, build is something that’s important to you.
Then it’s really important to make sure that you’re networking is very targeted. So take the initiative and create your own networking. Doesn’t have to be some event that’s created by some third party. You can always just network with the people that you want to network with and that will help your business. I think a lot more than just just a wish and a prayer, you know, a hope and a prayer of meeting someone at the local networking events. That’s the local what whatever it is, if it’s not targeted, but it’s not specific to one type of niche than it might be a waste of your time. Anyway, that’s what I’m thinking about today. I will talk to you guys tomorrow. Thank you so much for listening. I really, really appreciate everybody tuning in and all the great feedback I’m getting about the podcast.
